In short: Your voice is processed securely by our AI partners (OpenAI) to answer you. We never sell your data, and you can delete your history anytime.
1. Controller
Ola Technologies London Ltd is the controller of your personal data. Contact: ola@olacompanion.com.
2. What we collect and why
- Account data (name, email, password hash, country) — to provide your account. Legal basis: contract.
- Order data (items, amounts, shipping address, tracking) — to deliver your order and meet tax and accounting duties. Legal basis: contract and legal obligation.
- Payment data — handled by Stripe; we do not store your full card details. Legal basis: contract.
- Voice and conversations — when you tap the mic, your voice is sent to our servers and to our AI partners (OpenAI) to transcribe it and generate a spoken reply. Transcripts and replies are stored in your conversation history. Legal basis: contract.
- Watch settings and usage (language, persona, colours, usage amounts for the fair-use allowance). Legal basis: contract.
- Website analytics — none at present. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
3. Who we share it with
- OpenAI (AI processing of voice and text), as our processor.
- Stripe (payments and billing).
- Our hosting provider and email provider.
- Delivery carriers (name and address only).
We never sell your data and we don't use it for advertising.
4. International transfers
Some providers may process data outside the UK/EEA (for example in the United States). Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum / EU Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.
5. How long we keep it
Conversation history: until you delete it or close your account. Order and tax records: as long as the law requires (typically 6–10 years).
6. Your rights
You can access, correct, export or delete your data, object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent where we rely on it. You can export or delete your conversation history yourself in your account at any time. You can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) or your local EU data protection authority.
7. Children
ola is intended for adults. You must be 18 or over to buy an olacompanion and create an account.
8. Security
Connections between the watch, your ola account and our servers are encrypted. Access to personal data is restricted to people who need it.
